Summer Internship Spotlight: 劳伦·贝尔

2023年7月6日

Classes may be out for summer vacation, but that doesn’t mean Hardin-Simmons students aren’t hard at work, sharpening their skills in their respective job fields and courses of study. This summer, we’ll feature students who are interning, volunteering, or working around the world. If there is a student you think we should feature, reach out to marketing@ntbw.net!

名称: 劳伦·贝尔

家乡: Amarillo, Texas

Major(s)/Minor(s): Double major in Marketing and Economics.

任务: Lauren is traveling to Nairobi, Kenya, to share the gospel, connect with individuals sponsored by her home church, Harvest 联系, and attend its church branch in Turkana, Kenya.  She “cannot wait to see what the Lord is doing there and help spread the gospel” and is “most excited to shower love on the children over there.”

How has HSU played a role in getting you here: HSU has allowed me to meet people who are now standing behind me, 祈祷, and motivating me to pursue this calling that the Lord has placed on my heart.

Most impactful mentor at HSU: I would like to mention Megan McKinney for always encouraging me in everything I have pursued. I’m thankful to her for the constant laughs, deep talks, and many dinners spent in her company. She has welcomed me into her family, and I have been truly blessed by it.

What made you choose to embark on this mission trip, and how will it prepare you for the future: It has been my long-time dream to go to Africa on a mission trip. I have always had a heart for missions and have been 祈祷 for this since I was a child. I hope to return and share my testimony of everything I experienced and encourage others to go share the Gospel with others outside of their comfort zone.

Lauren appreciates your prayers for a safe and smooth travel and discernment from God on the words to say in any given situation. “Pray that He opens my eyes to see the things He wants me to learn and bring back to share with you all,”她说。.
